What is Thermowood and why is it worth it?

During the processing of Thermowood, the wood is subjected to high temperatures (180-230°C) without access to oxygen. This process:

•  Significantly reduces moisture absorption
•  Protects against mold and fungi
•  Limits swelling and shrinking of the wood
•  Reduces the risk of splinters and cracks
•  Increases the stability and durability of the material
•  Gives a uniform, elegant brown shade, which may gray over time under UV rays – therefore, it is recommended to use protective wood glaze.

All wooden elements of the barrel sauna (except for door and window frames, roof battens, and foundation beams) are made of Nordic Thermowood, ensuring longevity and weather resistance.
